What is this? I saw it parked, you know, just in town like it was no big deal. It was full of papers, tools and stuff like someone was really using it for work or something. I didn’t want to creep around it too much though. Sorry for the crappy pictures. Not sorry for the awesomeness.
Is this like the rig that Blipshift has down in NYC? For as much as I think it’s the perfect NYC vehicle for a few reasons, I would say it’s more appropriate up here in central NH. At least, you could make more use of its off-roadiness.

C303, in which case it’s wearing the wrong flag.

Interesting, yeah this was in Plymouth this morning. I suspected a local guy who I’ve seen in a white H1 with no doors, roof, etc. because maybe he left the Hummer at home, it’s cold and wet this morning, and it was parked where I’ve seen the Hummer before. But that was a LOT of speculation.

Did he have a curly gray mustache by any chance?

Also not sure of the significance of the 40 sticker and 40TRUCK license plate... I thought, oh, 1940 - but these were developed in the 60’s,
according to wikipedia
. I love that wikipedia also says it’s known as the Cross Country C303. That’s a cool reference then, in the name of the venerable XC70 wagon. Those things are about as common around here as mosquitos, but I’m ok with that.

Other than being hot, slow, and uncomfortable, this is the kind of vehicle I imagine being perfect on NYC streets.

Nah, the guy in the white Hummer is the one who just bought Tenney Mountain in Plymouth, Sir Michael Bouchard. He’s an eccentric guy, former military contractor, lots of toys it seems... also very nice and really doing amazing work on Tenney which had been closed for 5 years and nearly became the next Lost Ski Area of New England.
But no curly gray mustache!

Yeah those and the Pinzgauer have a mid mounted engine under a panel in the floor. You can swap all kinds of things in there. I used to see one in Hawaii all the time and he swapped a more common Japanese diesel into his.
